Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in „Skeleton Crew“ plus more stars from a galaxy far, far away. The holographic circus that entertains Neel’s younger siblings is the same one Chewbacca’s family watched in the infamous The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978). in the cast of AniMat’s wacky cartoon: Silly Old Deadly Bear (2022). Since I know a lot of hate will be directed at this show because of the ups and downs of recent Star Wars, I’m happy to say that this is an increase. So far… The first 2 episodes don’t break new ground, nor do they really have much of an original feel, but that doesn’t bother me since it delivers on everything. The cast and their acting are great, the costumes/set design is probably the best we’ve seen since Andor, the writing, especially the hilarious banter between the kids, was good. Again, nothing new, but it’s still intriguing and I’m excited to keep watching. This gives me major Treasure Planet vibes. As someone who didn’t like recent Star Wars, I was surprised by Skeleton Crew. I hope anyone who’s even mildly interested, or even upset by the recent shows, gives it a chance. Don’t let the „for kids“ thing put you off. Star Wars was made for everyone, and so is this.
